If you feel the urge to revamp your bedroom, here are five ways to do it on a budget (Christmas is coming after all)
1. Buy a rug
Rugs can make a huge difference to a room, if you have wooden floors it adds warmth and if you have carpet it helps to add texture and colour (depending on the type of rug you go for) rugs look great either at the bottom of the bed or if your budget will stretch have one under your bed so you have something cosy and warm to put your feet on when you get out of bed. Ikea, John Lewis and Dunelm Mill all do a variety of rugs that should fit most budgets.
2. Introduce flowers
This is a super quick and easy way to freshen up a bedroom. The autumnal colours of the season will add warmth to your room and you can’t beat fresh flowers. If you’re allergic opt for fake ones, there are some really realistic ones out there. Try M&S, BHS or your local florist for real and fake options.
3. Update your lampshades
Changing your lampshade will make a dramatic difference. Often lightening is overlooked in bedrooms but it’s the one thing that will totally change the look and feel of the room. Opt for softer shades to create a calming and peaceful environment.
4. Add cushions
Cushions can help to change the look of a room and there are so many different varieties available there will be something to fit in with every colour scheme.
5. Hang some pictures on the wall
Whether it’s pictures of your family, a landscape or a canvas print, introducing pictures to your room will make a difference in an instant. It’s a great way of showing off your favourite prints too.
