Keeping your hands and feet warm on a skiing holiday is pretty essential and as I started getting all my bits and pieces together before I headed off to France last month the lovely chaps at Dare 2b gave me the chance to review* some ski mittens and cosy socks to ensure I stayed warm on the slopes.
It’s always been mittens over gloves for me and these mitts worked out pretty well. They were perfectly sized for my paws and you can easily adjust them on the slopes if you need a bit of breathing space. There were times when I needed to take them off to give my hands some air they were that warm and toasty – not that I am complaining. I was enjoying this new experience of having warm hands. I had bought a thermal pair of gloves to wear underneath my mittens. I soon discovered these we not required. These mitts stood up to being stuck on the slopes in a snow storm, they saw me through a white out and I didn’t even need to take them off when I needed to adjust my ski boots. If you have been inspired by Sochi and you’ve booked yourself a snow filled holiday grab a pair of these and give them a go. They are now part of my essential ski kit.
The ski socks were great and they looked pretty cool, but for me I needed another pair of socks over the top to provide some extra insulation – I do have very cold feet though most of the time. If you don’t have that problem they would probably be fine. I am putting them to good use back here in the UK and they will certainly see me through the winter.
So all in all great products, 5/5 for the Frisked Mittens 3/5 for the Footloose Ski Socks.
