I don’t know about you but my energy levels are all over the place at the moment. If you’re looking to give them a boost try incorporating these five energy boosting foods into your diet.
1. Green Tea
If you’re out and about it’s always tempting to have one of those super delicious flavoured coffees, but step back!! They are so calorific and they contain a heap of sugar. They taste amazing and you’ll feel awake after drinking it but then your energy levels will crash, and we all know what that looks like. Opt for a green tea and you’ll be amazed at the difference, it will help you to maintain steady energy levels because it’s packed with natural antioxidants. Try and drink three to five cups a day to notice a difference.
There’s a reason why athletes eat bananas and it’s because they’re a great energy source. They are also really good for your skin as they are contain skin-improving minerals. Pop one in your bag for a snack or blend one in your morning or afternoon smoothie.
Avoid those sugary cereals in a morning, they are tempting and tasty but contain a serious amount of sugar. Eating a portion of oats drizzled with some honey or topped with strawberries or blueberries is a much healthier option. Oats are a fantastic way of providing your body with slow-release energy throughout the day.
4. Dark chocolate
I’ve stopped buying milk chocolate because it’s too tempting to eat the whole bar. I now buy dark chocolate and just have one square which is pretty much all you need to feed your sweet tooth. Dark chocolate is rich in antioxidants that boost your energy levels and your mood. The darker the chocolate the better!
This wholegrain is so good for you. It’s high in protein, complex carbs, fibre and B vitamins, and it’s also known to help lower stress levels. Add some to a salad or have a portion with some chicken or fish.
Wishing you all a sun and fun-filled July.

The weekend is nearly here which means it’s time to start thinking about a refreshing drink to enjoy. This cocktail literally combines my two favourite things (wine and fruit). It’s so easy to make. No blenders or shakers required!
I’d suggest you make this in advance as it tastes much better after it’s been left to sit overnight. The recipe below is enough to serve eight people.
What you need:
- 2 bottles of red wine
- 1lb of strawberries
- The seeds from 1 pomegranate
- 2 cups of pomegranate juice
- Soda water
How to make it:
1. Stick some music on – in my opinion it’s the only way to make a cocktail
2. Slice the strawberries (avoid eating too many of them along the way) and place in a large pitcher with the with the seeds from the pomegranate.
3. Add the wine and the pomegranate juice.
4. Pop in the fridge for a minimum of 6 hours. I would leave for 24 hours for a truly delicious taste.
5. Have a sip and add 1-2 tablespoons of granulated sugar or honey if you want it a little sweeter.
6. Pour into glasses and add some soda and ice. Garnish with a strawberry (if you didn’t eat them all)
7. Sit back and enjoy

I could have featured so many more things on my June wish list. There’s too many nice things out there!
I had a REN facial last month and I can’t tell you how amazing my skin looked and felt afterwards. I hadn’t had a facial in so long (I am talking years). REN firming and smoothing serum is a little pricey but I have fallen in love with it.
Another favourite is personalised items, I don’t have any the moment but definitely have my eye on these adidas superstar 80’s that you can customise – you can even put you name on them!
I had to feature this Olivia Burton watch. I’ve been a fan for ages but haven’t actually purchased anything from her range yet. I love the new collection she’s just launched and this grey mesh watch is so classic looking.
Pandora has been my go-to jewellery brand for years and I just love with this black stone ring.
Happy shopping everyone.
